After attending Waterloo West, Edita Begic began her studies in finance at the University of Northern Iowa, ultimately finding a successful post-graduate career in real estate.
As the president and co-owner of Vine Valley Real Estate, Edita Begic strives to make a positive impact on the surrounding area through intentional leadership and her steadfast commitment to putting people first. She and her husband, Emsad Begic, established their real estate business in October 2019, with the aim of creating their own legacy to pass down to the next generation. Through the ups and downs of the pandemic, the Begics worked to serve their community, by enabling homeownership for individuals across the Cedar Valley.
“One of my top priorities is community integration,” said Edita Begic. “I believe that businesses have a responsibility to give back to the communities they serve, and I am proud to have played an active role in this regard throughout my career.”
In 2022, Begic was recognized as one of the Courier’s 20 under 40, an achievement that highlights young professionals who are making a positive impact in the Cedar Valley. She says that her time at Waterloo Schools gave her the support and resources she needed to ask questions and eventually find her ideal career path.
“For students, I would encourage you to lean on your teachers – your promoters – who see your potential,” said Edita Begic. “Take the ultimate chance – join that club, ask questions, dig deeper. That’s your opportunity to utilize those resources and staff to help guide you.”
Now approaching their fourth anniversary in business, Edita and Emsad Begic say they’ve only just begun.
