Welcome to the Waterloo Community Schools Food Services website. We serve meals to over 10,000 students District wide in eighteen schools; three high schools, four middle schools and eleven elementary schools. Our food service operations are governed by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program and require strict regulatory compliance. Breakfast and lunch are planned to offer nutritious meals, which average less than 30 percent of calories from fat and reduced sodium intake.
One District Manager of Food/Nutrition Program, 1 District Assistant Manager of Food/Nutrition Program, 1 Office Manager of Food/Nutrition Program, 6 Food/Nutrition Program Managers and over 120 highly trained cooks, lunch associates and general workers prepare and serve your children each day. We follow the offer versus serve protocol. Our district goal is to provide well-balanced, healthy meals each day and to encourage our students and staff to make healthy choices.
WCSD Food Service department operates on a non-profit basis. All revenues generated from ala carte and adult sales are invested back into the food service department each year by updating equipment and supplies in our eighteen kitchens.
