Athletic Hall of Fame
East High School will be accepting nominations for the 2022-2023 Athletic Hall of Fame Until December 9, 2022. Community members are invited to submit nominees for the class of 2022-2023. A nomination form can be picked up in the East High School Athletic Office, print here, or on the East High website.
The 2022-2023 nomination process will close on December 9, 2022. The committee will make a decision on the nominations submitted. There will be an Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony before a basketball game(date yet to be determined) in the winter of 2022.
Only nominees who meet the following minimum qualifications will be considered for recognition in the following are the Waterloo East High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
- Graduate of Waterloo East High School
- Identified as Team Conference Champion and/or All State Team Member.
Individual (s) / All Conference Team and/or State Champion in the following sports:
Fall Sports – Football, Volleyball, Girls Swim, Cross Country, Boys Golf
Winter Sports – Basketball, Wrestling, Boys Swim, Hockey, Bowling
Spring Sports – Track, Soccer, Tennis, Girls Golf
Summer Sports – Baseball, Softball
- Candidates must be selected by one of the following organizations:
– Iowa Newspaper Association (INA)
– Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU)
– Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA)
– Des Moines Register
– Iowa Daily Press Association
- Waterloo East High School graduates that have been selected to a 1st-2nd-3rd-Honorable Mention place team.
- 1st-2nd-3rd-Honorable Mention in an NCAA sponsored athletic event for
Division I-II-III NCAA / NAIA.
Waterloo East High School graduates that have been selected to the NCAA / NAIA approved Academic All-American team also qualify, we need that information too.
